Bully Scholarship Edition

Retaining the wit and deep gameplay of the previously released PS2 Bully title, Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he experiences the highs and lows of adjusting to a new school. Capturing the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence perfectly, Bully: Scholarship Edition pulls the player into its cinematic and engrossing world set in the most vile and sadistic setting yet in a Rockstar videogame: the schoolyard. Laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious Bullworth Academy.

4 Stars One of the Good Wii Titles
I got a Wii for Xmas and after completing Okami, my next task was Bully.
I’ve tried out a few games for the Wii, but so far haven’t really been all that impressed. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about this game either – it took me one chapter (there are 5 main chapters with a 6th follow up chapter) to really get into the game. But after chapter 1, I was hooked, line and sinker. This is a fun game that let’s you relive your high school years they way you always wanted too. The game would have been a lot more fun if the material was more R-rated….Here’s to hoping they release a sequel in the future.
5 Stars new kid turned forced bully
that pretty much sums up Jimmy Hopkins in a nutshell. so his mom and stepdad drop him off at this God awful boarding school with little more than $50 in his pocket. he’s pretty much left to fend for himself. he’s the new kid, and the school is a total piece of crap, so pretty much he’s the target of everyone’s frustrations…from the school admins to even the nerdy guys. sure you can play it safe and lay low, but there really is no way to get around being…well, a bully. seeing as i never attended a sub-standard boarding school, nor was i ever a menace to my fellow pupils, i thought this game was pretty fun…and funny. Jimmy gets to beat up kids at will. most of the time he’s provoked. i like the fact that you get to do random errands for other students (good or bad) to earn extra cash. let’s face it, how else is Jimmy going to buy soda and clothes. i’ve only played a couple of days, so i haven’t attended all the classes yet. music seems to be the easiest. biology is a killer. nowhere near enough time to dissect an amphibian and actually get something out of the whole experience. one thing i’ve ran into that i don’t like is that you can’t move on to other missions until you complete the present one. i haven’t played long enough to unlock parts of the game that allow you to leave school grounds…hmm, or maybe you can just run away… anyways, this game is awesome. the game play is engaging and the graphics aren’t half bad. i love the dialogue between the characters. they got some good actors for this and they really thought through the whole dialogue process. in other words, the interactions don’t seem totally random like other games i’ve played. i would definitely adhere to the teen rating for this game. this isn’t something you would want an elementary student to think is cool and mimick. i’ve read other reviews where people complained about the time spent watching loading screens, so i expected it to be a total nuisance. sure it can be annoying at times, but i really didn’t think it was that bad. for the amount of detail that needs to load in this game, i didn’t think it was such a bother. this game is definitely worth a buy.
5 Stars The Most Entertaining Game On The Wii… For Now…
First let me begin by saying that this game is by far more original and entertaining than any other game I have played on the Wii as of 02-05-09. Yes, Super Smash Bros. is excellent if you want to repetitively do the same thing over and over again or Mario Galaxy is even great. Lets face it though not much ground breaking change has occurred in the Mario franchise since Super Mario 64. The point being this is something new and full of strange excitement. It also is a quite mature game for the age it recommends which is thirteen and up.
In the game your Jimmy Hopkins, a new student in the elaborate world of Bullworth Academy and its surroundings. On your journey you encounter many objectives such as going to class which includes anything from dissecting animals with your wii remote to keeping a steady beat in music class with a variety of instruments. In all there are ten different classes with 5 different lessons creating easy or very difficult situations. The main problem ends up being time which your are not allowed much of and sometimes poor control of the wii remote because the motion control in the game is very sensitive. Between classes though is when the real fun begins. There are five different chapters in the main storyline of the game with anywhere from 10-15 objectives in each one. Most of these objectives are extremely easy but can get somewhat difficult as the game progresses. Many other reviews have stated that during these missions the loading time increases dramatically to which I agree, but being a PS3 owner this is nothing compared to that. At the most you might have to wait a minute for the game or cut scene to load, big deal. Also I have read about glitches during some of these missions and so far I have only encountered one but it did not prevent me from completing a task. There are also about 20 different mini games and tasks that you can complete after you have finished all the chapters in the main storyline and have completed all your classes. Of course you do not have to wait till both of these parts of the game are finished in order to play the mini games but I would because it leaves you with something else to do once you have completed the main portions of the game and have unlocked the ‘Endless Summer’ chapter of the game. This just allows you do to the mini games and roam around the map without the pressure of Prefects or going to class.
After all is said and done this game only has a few minor errors which should not persuade you from purchasing it. Most of the reviews I have read that are negative seem biased because the writer already judged the game based on how it did on the X-Box 360. The game has many countless hours of entertaining game play and is great for anyone in their teens to adults.
5 Stars Very Good, a very few problems
This is a great game. I got it and I cannot put down the controller. I am currently going through it for the third time and it is great. There is one problem though, and that is the classes. The ones like music, shop, biology, chemistry, and gym, where you are not required to think are great. Math, grammar, and geography however, require thinking and I found them very difficult without the guide, which I purchased. Overall, a VERY good game, but I would recommend purchasing the guide with the game.
5 Stars way better on wii
