Kellogg's is really digging the video game thing, capitalizing on this growing industry in every way imaginable. Yesterday, i wrote about how the Nintendo Wii got some free (?) exposure in a recent Kellogg's cereal ad and it seems that today, Kellogg's is taking that a little further. The

The Nintendo Wii is obviously selling in huge numbers right now around the world, and leading the battle to be best-selling console in this generation. But despite this, I still feel that the little white box is the least loved console out of the three currently on the market. What am I talking about? Read on to find out.

An op-ed that investigates how awesome Nintendo would be if they made new WiiWare titles like Legend of Zelda, similar to Capcom with Mega Man 9.

Barnyard

Barnyard brings the animal world to life on your Wii! Players will start off as the ‘new cow on the block,’ form alliances with fellow animals, taking on challengesand sporting competitions, protecting the farm from coyote invaders, and doing lots of goofing off on the side. Players will be able to explore a fully interactive world and prove that they have what it takes to be the biggest party animal of all.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Fun for kids and beginners
This game is based on the movie ‘Barnyard’ and you play a new cow who enters a farm and befriends other animals by doing tasks for them and partying with them. There is a huge farm in which you can roam around and as in many other games, you gain access to different areas as you complete ‘missions’, some of them as dumb as just finding stuff around, as fun as squirting milk on other animals and targets and as active as mud jumping, bike races, chicken chase or apple shooting. None of the missions are seriously challenging, but quiet a few are fun for kids and beginners. If you are a serious action gamer, stay away from this game.

Some cons:

- The voice for characters is poorly done. They speak only the first sentence and the rest you have read by pushing the A button. I didn’t like this and neither did my five year old.

- I think the controls could have been better or more options be given. For simple actions performed in this game, it is a bit too much to use both the wiimote and the nunchuck. There is no option (atleast that i know of) to use just the wiimote analog controls which would have been less strenuos on the little kid’s hands.

Over all, it is a fun game for the price!

I rented this because of the fun-looking games on the back of the box…little did I know how the next 2weeks of my life would change. We play ALL the time. The missions for the cows are so exciting. Some are challenging, which make it very frustrating, but oh such a feeling of accomplishment when you finish! The music is great and the scenes are beautiful. I have to go now to play, sorry.

4 Stars Very Fun Game to Play
I rented this game from Blockbuster last week and both my daughter and I have enjoyed it. She is only 4 but loves to watch me make the animals talk and run around kicking things.

As with any game this price range I reccomend you try it before you buy it if you have a local video store that rents games. There have been games that I have brought back within hours wondering what I was thinking but on this game I have enjoyed it so much we are going to purcahse it for ourselves.
