5 Stars Please Read – Why this Wii HD Cable may or May not Work for You
This is a high-quality product must-have Wii product at a low price (3rd party vendor).
Note this is the heavy-duty HD cable version (vs. the slim one). Got this at an excellent price and it does the job. Cable works wonders on my friend’s 52″ widescreen Samsung. On my Sony 36″ tube XBR (6 years old), which is 480P HD-ready, there’s some improvement but not huge. Overall, I’m satisfied and can’t wait till I upgrade my TV. Note the Wii is only 480P so don’t expect those jagged/boxy edges to fall off. Definitely worth it if you have a good HD TV set and can spare the component inputs (vs. coaxial).
*Note some people forget to adjust the Wii settings to output 480P (ETV/Enhanced = “HD, 480P) and widescreen/regular, which may explain why they don’t see ANY improvement vs. regular coaxial. You can’t just plug it in and expect the Wii settings to auto-detect and change! Meanwhile, some expect a ‘true HD’ miracle despite the Wii systems’ limitations.

I’m glad that it was such a great price for this product because I really wanted to see the difference. Unfortunately, we saw no difference between using this cable and the one that came with the Wii. (We have a 50″ LCD tv.)

if you have an HDTV, i would recommend to get one of these cables. for the dirt cheap price of about $7, these work amazingly well and make the wii noticeably clearer and brighter. dont forget to switch it to the 480P resolution in the wii options!
