Ben 10 Alien Force

Ben 10: Alien Force The Game, based on Cartoon Network’s hit television series, is the only video game that allows players to take command of characters from the ‘Alien Force’ team to authentically control and experience their adventures. The game begins five years after Ben puts away the DNA-scrambling Omnitrix, but now Grandpa Max has gone missing and the planet Earth is in grave danger.

Gamers must help Ben take the Omnitrix out of retirement and lead eight different playable characters-including cousin Gwen, enemy-turned-ally Kevin Levin and five of Ben’s brand new alien forms-Swampfire, Jet Ray, Humungousaur, Spidermonkey and Big Chill-to utilize their all-new super powers and defeat the intergalactic invaders. Gamers will also experience tons of new story content.

Gameplay is fast-paced, 3D and action-adventure based, offering an unlimited combo system with puzzles and challenges that will engage players of all levels for hours at a time. Ben 10: Alien Force The Game comes on the heels of a tremendously successful inaugural game, BEN 10: Protector of Earth, which launched in November 2007 and has sold more than one million units worldwide, making this an adventure not to be missed.

Playable Characters
Ben Tennyson – Ben fills the role of leader after Max disappears. The Omnitrix has been recalibrated, giving him access to a new set of alien heroes. Over the past few years, Ben has matured dramatically.

Gwen Tennyson – Now 15, Gwen is much more proficient with her powers, able to manipulate energy directly as opposed to using spells. Gwen is much calmer and grown up, nowhere near as fiery or sharp-tongued as she was five years ago.

Kevin Levin – A former nemesis of Ben, 16-year-old Kevin reforms and joins the Tennysons on their quest to repay Magister for saving him from the Forever Knights. While not as psychotic as he once was, he still desires revenge for his time in the Null Void at first, though he puts it aside to help stop the Highbreed. His abilities now allow him to absorb the properties of any solid matter he touches.

Humongousaur – Humongousaur is a Vaxasaurian, a humanoid dinosaur alien from the planet Terradino (a play on ‘dino’ from dinosaur). Standing at about twelve feet tall, Humongousaur has great strength and vast resistance to injury. He also has the power to increase his own body size and mass, growing up to sixty feet in height. His strength increases as he grows, and his dinosaur features become more pronounced.

Spidermonkey – Spidermonkey is a Arachnichimp (a play on arachnid and chimpanzee) from the planet Aranhascimmia. As his name suggests, he is a six-limbed monkey-like alien. He has superhuman agility and, like a spider, can spin webs that he can swing from or create nets from his tail, and stick to walls. When Ben transforms into Spidermonkey, he talks in an excited, childish tone and displays mischievous characteristics with occasional monkey-like screeching.

Jetray – Jetray is a Aerophibian (a play on ‘aero’ for air and amphibian) from the planet Aeropela. Jetray is a manta ray-like alien capable of flying and swimming faster than the speed of sound. He can fire neuroshock blasts from his eyes and tail, and the stingers on his head carry a powerful poison.

Swampfire – Jetray is a Aerophibian (a play on ‘aero’ for air and amphibian) from the planet Aeropela. Jetray is a manta ray-like alien capable of flying and swimming faster than the speed of sound. He can fire neuroshock blasts from his eyes and tail, and the stingers on his head carry a powerful poison.

Big Chill – Big Chill is a moth-like alien whose wings and antennae can “fold” up, giving him the appearance of a phantom; his appearance is reminiscent of the cryptid known as Mothman. He can become intangible and invisible, and can breathe freezing vapor. He can also freeze the objects he phases through at his discretion.

Key Game Features:

  • Authentically Step Into The ‘Alien Force’ World – Play the only video game that allows you to command members of the ‘Alien Force’ team; investigate never-before-seen locations, enemies and characters, and explore favorite places from the best show episodes.
  • Multiple Playable Characters with Special Superpowers – Take control of Ben and his new alien forms Swampfire, Jet Ray, Humungousaur, Spidermonkey and Big Chill to manipulate fire, swim underwater, grow more than 60 feet tall, stick to walls, fly at mach speed, plus lots more! Harness Gwen’s talent to create an energy shield to protect and attack, and use Kevin Levin’s ability to absorb materials to create impenetrable body armor.
  • Solid and Robust Gameplay – Explore action-packed levels and secret sections in arcade-style gameplay as you clash with more than 20 types of enemies; use more than 75 attack options and create unlimited attack chaining with the streamlined combo system; engage in two-player co-op on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system for hours of fun and replayability.
  • Based On a Successful Television Franchise – As one of Cartoon Network’s breakout original franchises, the Ben 10: Alien Force television series is in its first season as a top-rated show, and is the next generation continuation of the phenomenally successful and Emmy-winning Ben 10 original series. A long form television movie based on Ben 10: Alien Force will debut on Cartoon Network in fall 2008.
  • Exceptional Level of Authenticity – The game’s art style, sound effects and music are 100% authentic, with all audio in the game pulled directly from the show sound vaults and all voice acting provided by the original television cast.

1 Star Boring, even for a 6 year old.
The music in this game will put you to sleep. The repetitive voice clips during battle are beyond annoying. The graphics are laughable. Even the 6 year old I purchased this for thought it looked horrible.

Playing with a second player is a complete joke. Rather than letting one character be Ben adn another be Gwen or Kevin, BOTH players are the same character. You can’t even change colors to tell the characters apart. That makes for some confusing fights!

Once your child completes all 8 levels (which they will do in one night), there is nothing to bring them back to the game. The game is boring, awkward, and highly repetitive.

If you have a big Ben 10 fan in your household, I suggest renting this game so you’re not out a lot of money on top of having a disappointed child.

5 Stars Very fun game and intereactive.
My 5 year old son loves it. Very good game. I enjoy playing the game with him as well. Graphics are good and good game play. Has not gotten bored. I recommend this game.

4 Stars Play side-by-side with your kid (early teamwork development)
This game is exactly like the previous Ben 10 game. The gameplay is shallow and the controls aren’t top notch. BUT, this game lets you play co-op with your kid. That alone is worth the price.

This game isn’t horrible, especially if you have a Ben 10 fan in you house, but it isn’t one of the better action games on the Wii. There is a reason why this game is always on sale.

My son and I have a blast switching up the characters. He likes it when I freeze the bad guys with Big Chill and then he hits them with fire balls with Swamp Fire. It is great early development of teamwork skills.

Enjoy saving the universe with your kids. This type of gameplay is priceless.

4 Stars May the (Alien) Force Be With You.
Ben Tennyson’s back and badder than ever in his new series “Ben 10 Alien Force”. Now you can live out his adventures in the new “Ben 10 Alien Force” video game !

Join Ben, Gwen, and Kevin as they head out to new places – though some are familiar to the series’ first season – and take down some new foes in vast 3-D areas with many levels and stunning (though mostly dark) graphics. You’ll encounter new creatures great and small, but as Ben, you’ll take them down no problem with 5 of your favorite alien heroes: Swampfire, Big Chill, Spidermonkey, Jetray, and Humoungousaur.

This game is somewhat familiar to that of the first Ben 10 game, “Ben 10: Protector of Earth”, but you’re now playing new alien characters, AND Gwen and Kevin, too ! (Especially with the 2-player co-op mode.) There’s also some new attacks and combo moves that you’ve gotta be quick on to take down the bad guys. But beating up baddies isn’t enough; there are some parts in the game that require skill needed to solve puzzles and challenges in some levels. Also, use each alien form wisely, and you’ll find some new secret areas with items that unlock new bonus content like artwork, cutscenes, and a special video behind the game which makes it very authentic.

So if you’re a fan of “Ben 10″ and “Ben 10 Alien Force”, this game is rather enjoyable. And look for more new episodes of “Alien Force” real soon on Cartoon Network as well as a new movie coming this Fall !

4 Stars Cool Game! ROOARALLRRKK!
My six year old boy and eight year old girl love this game. It took them a while to get used to it but now they just dig right in and fight the aliens until their gone and go on to the next level. The grunts and grones are kind of violent sounding and I would rather see them playing nicer games but this is not blood and gore.

5 Stars Great game for kids
my kids are 9 7 5 all girls and the love this game could play it all day long the only thing the do no like this that it is only one player other than that the love it

5 Stars billy and mandy
Billy and Mandy prove to be quite fun for children. The graphics are quite good. I find the game fast paced and hard to follow but the kids love it! It has some qualities that remind one of days gone by with atari and nintendo at their earliest.

5 Stars DEATHMATCH !!! (pun intended)
It’s the hit show on Cartoon Network like you’ve never seen – or played – before !

The “Billy and Mandy” video game may look like your garden variety multiplayer combat game with weapons and destructible environments, but this has some of your favorite characters from the show such as the hapless Irwin, the chaotic Eris, the sinister Nergal and Nergal Jr., the prank-pulling Jack O. Lantern, the annoying Fred Fredburger, and much more. Each character has a special power move and alternate costumes that you can unlock. There are various modes of play including a “Mission Mode” that unlocks characters and other neat extras like a sneak peek at a brand new “Grim Adventures” special coming soon ! Plus the Wii exclusively has a SIXTH tier of missions that unlock even more cool stuff !

So if you like “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy” on Cartoon Network, and if you like no-holds-barred fighting games, then this is definitely the game for you. You know you want it !

4 Stars THE FIRST GAME
WHILE FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A BILLY AND MANDY GAME FOR YEARS,THE SHOW DOES IT AT LAST WITH OVER 15 CHARACTERS! THE WHOLE CAST IS READY TO FIGHT OVER GRIMS MOJO BALLS.BUT,WHO RELEASED THEM AND STARTED THE MADNESS? BATTLE A FRIEND WITH ALL YOU GOT IN V.S.,AND KILL EVERYONE! THE FUN WILL NEVER END.

4 Stars Brake your self…or at least others
Brake your self…or at least others.

The game is in the vein of the show so if you like the destruction and absurdity of the show you’ll enjoy the game. This is a button masher game, but it does have a little skill requirement as it uses just about every part of the wii remote. Worth it for anyone who wants a party beat ‘m up game. A little boring in single mode. It’s a battle game threw-n-threw.

Take on the role of Cartoon Network’s popular everyday-kid-turned-alien-hero, Ben Tennyson. At first glance, 10-year-old Ben looks like your average, everyday kid, but upon closer inspection it’s plain to see he’s the world’s youngest action hero stopping evildoers from Earth and space. Using the power of the Omnitrix which has embedded itself on Ben’s wrist, you will be able to battle as one of five popular alien heroes from the show. By taking on these amazing powers, you can battle to save the world through the game’s diverse challenges, puzzles and skirmishes. The evil Vilgax, with the help of Kevin 11 and the Forever Knights, has set in motion a plan to capture the Omnitrix and the world is in danger. Ben 10: Protector of Earth is an exciting game full of familiar characters on a quest to stop Vilgax and save the day.

5 Stars Ben 10 Wii Craze
I bought this game based off the reviews here in Amazon. My 7-year-old and my 3-year-old love playing this together. It’s great that they can battle the enemy aliens together and promote their teamwork. I love watching them and hearing them discuss their attack strategies and what alien they plan on being. Great buy.

5 Stars Terrific Deal!!
Bought game with some hesitation but glad with end result.

Cant find this game at any major dept stores. Very cost effective purchase. Me and my son love it!!!

3 Stars My kids like it
My two kids love Ben 10. They got so excited to get this game. It is fun to play, and easy for them, they are 3 and 5 years old. The downside is that the game isn’t that long. My husband and I barely helped them with it, they had limited playing tome, and yet they still finished the whole game themselves within a week. I just wish it was longer. They now just go back and replay all of the levels. There’s nothing new to do on it.

5 Stars Great game!
This game is very good for many reasons.I got this game because Im a real Ben10 fan, and I must say this game is very fun!

The to player mode and wii controls make it even better!

I love the boss battles there very “big” because the bosses are very very BIG!

This game is what I’d call light gaming its easy, but not to easy.If your one for a hard game this game also has a hard mode.

This game is also very true to the cartoons (same voices), I also think the games story is great it keeps you on your feet wanting to none stop play!

It has all your favorite villains and favorite Ben10 locations!

If your a Ben10 fan, a action game lover, like to use the wii controls in a cool way, then you’ll love this game!

4 Stars Super great game; interim graphics could be better
Bought this for my MEGA Ben 10 5 year old fan. Although he’d had maybe no more than 10 hours of play on the wii prior to this Christmas he has nearly mastered 2 levels on the game in just 2 days. Had no idea until I read the other reviews that we could play with him too…so that should make playing more interesting.

I will say that because he is such a huge Ben 10 fan we bought the HyperScan game for him for Christmas as well…the wii blows it away. This is MUCH MUCH easier to play and it’s easier to change aliens…yes, it is a bummer you only get like 6/10 aliens but then if you want more that’s what Alien Force is for. Overall, I think it’s an awesome game and true to the television series…Only disappointment is the conversations with Gwen and Grandpa between the sets is lackluster…I really expected the graphics on that to have been better than what they were. Overall, I’m extremely glad I bought the game and am looking forward to getting Ben 10 Alien Force in the mail next week! :)

4 Stars Funny, short, easy
I’ll add my two cents only because there are so few reviews on this item. Basically, every other reviewer is correct. It’s funny, very short, and pretty easy. If you like the show and/or point-and-click adventures you will enjoy it.

The lack of Stephen Colbert is the only real disappointment. The actor who does Phil Ken Sebben sounds nothing like him. It’s so short I’d be ticked if I paid a lot for this game, but at its current price it is perfectly reasonable. I’m not a fan of games that take 60 hours to complete anyway.

4 Stars I’ll take the case!!
Harvey Birdman was one of my favorite shows on Cartoon Network’s [adult swim] line-up. The show featured the classic cartoon hero Birdman as a washed-up, middle-aged, sexually confused superhero-turned-lawyer, and a rapid-fire delivery of jokes and Hanna Barbara guest stars like Scooby Doo and the Flintstones. The show ended it’s run recently, and I picked up all 3 volumes of the show on DVD. I was jonesing for new Harvey by the time I heard of this game, and thought I had to get it. I was extremely happy that the game does work well. The game does retain the show’s non-sequitor spirit. Although at times, I worry that I made Harvey a bit too competant.

The game works a lot like the classic point-and-click adventures or the more recent Phoenix Wright games on the DS. Explore the environment, find evidence, present them at the right moment of the case, and you win, it’s pretty simple. Unfortunatly, the game is extremely short. If you can figure out the case, you could get through it in about a half hour, and the game only has about 5 cases, so you probably get through it in about a couple of days (I did). The game would be great for any fan of the show.

3 Stars Good game, way too short
I bought this game because I love adventure games and have recently been enjoying the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney games. I was excited to play my first adventure game on the Wii and expected play to be similar to the Ace Attorney series. I was not familiar with the cartoon Harvey Birdman on Adult Swim, so I admit it took a little while to get used to the humor and silliness of it, but I did enjoy it.

The game is fun. It’s similar to Phoenix Wright, except for feeling more arbitrary, silly, and less challenging. Mostly, the cases were VERY short. Five cases flew by. I probably spent a total of 5-6 hours playing this game. That’s not a lot of playing time for a $40 game.

It was fun. But for anybody already used to adventure games or lawyer games, it won’t present any challenge. And it entertained me, but not for NEARLY long enough. I wish they would have made it longer, and the cases more involved. If they did that for a sequel, I would buy it. But I would try to pick this one up cheap.

5 Stars Birdman The Game Rocks!
If you love Harvey Birdman on Adult Swim, then you HAVE to buy this game. It’s a point & click adventure, where you play as Harvey Birdman, uncovering evidence & probing witness testimony. There are tons of hilarious cut scenes throughout each case, which feature all the weird characters from the show. You explore different areas to find clues, as well as pressing witness testimony & presenting evidence in court. Although it starts off easy, the gameplay is fun & does get more challenging by the end. The humor is just as offbeat & great as the tv show, & there are 5 original cases to explore. The voice talent is there, & definitely just as terrific as the show. The graphics & sound are also excellent, exactly like the cartoon. Overall, my only complaint is that it was too short, the game could have benefitted from another case or two. But there are different dialogue paths & unlockables, which enable you to replay the cases for different laughs. It’s not often that you get a game based on a tv show (or movie) that is done as well as this. It really reflects the cartoon flawlessly, & deserves a spot in any fan’s library.

4 Stars Loads of fun for all ages, easy game to play too
This is a lot of fun to play, no matter your age.

It’s what I’d call “gamer lite”. It’s a gamer type game, but very easy to play.

My only gripe *SPOILER* is that you only get to play as 5 or 6 of the aliens.

One of my favorites, Upgrade, isn’t even in there.

*SPOILER* Even at the end of the game when Ben gets all the aliens back, we never even see them!

I hope they do a sequel to this, and include all the aliens.

5 Stars “Ben” There, Done That
Hey, look !

It’s the all new “Ben 10: Protector of Earth” video game I and some of you Ben fans have been waiting for !

Ben Tennyson and his adventures go to the next level when Ben’s Omnitrix gets busted up with all its alien powers within it. Now Ben is totally going cross-country with Gwen and Grandpa Max in order to get the watch fixed AND save the world from utter destruction.

That’s where you come in. Take control of Ben and his awesome alien heroes as you defeat the bad guys using some killer combo moves each alien possesses. I, however, am surprised the only available aliens this game has to offer are Four Arms, Heatblast, XLR8, Cannonbolt and Wildvine. Why not Diamondhead ? Or Wildmutt ? Ah, whatever; those creatures still have some great moves if you know how to work each combo.

With vast levels that capture some great American landmarks and incredible boss challenges against the likes of the Forever Knights, Kevin 11, and Vilgax, you’ll definitely be having a blast playing this game. And while you’re at it, look around each level for hidden “Sumo Slammer” cards. Collecting all three per level will earn you some great bonus features and such. Getting an “A” rank in each and every level will unlock some more bonus features such as concept art, enemy and hero viewers, and more.

Also, more than one player can play in either Battle or Two-player Co-op modes in this game. (In the Co-op mode, you and your teammate can unleash a special move together !)

So get set for the greatest road trip any 10-year-old kid would ever dream of… again ! (That is, if you’ve been watching the hit TV series.) And keep your eyes peeled for brand-new episodes of “Ben 10″, PLUS a brand-new animated series coming this spring: “Ben 10 Alien Force” !

5 Stars Wonderful for young and old
Great game, I agree w/ all other reviews. Easy to figure out, and my kids are 5 and 10. It is great that 2 Ben’s can play at the same time as my 10yo helps my 5yo through the levels. They have since conquered this game, but continue to play it over and over. Now my 5yo can play it by himself, even conquering the big alien ‘mini-games’ or whatever they are. Love it love it. we also have only played on easy level, but i think time to bump it up a bit!

4 Stars Play at the same time with your kids (two-player co-op)

There is already a lot said in the other reviews, so I thought I would solely focus on one of the great features of this game. The co-op mode. My son is 5, he still struggles with some of the battles in this game. But you can just fire up another controller and join the battle with your kid. We have a blast trying to smash more than the other. We each try different aliens to see who is better.

It is a lot of fun with some great bonding.

The game itself is OK, the the ability to play together is such a plus!!!

5 Stars WII Ben 10
I’m too old to appreciate this game. But I purchased it for my grandson’s 9th birthday, and it quickly drew the attention of his 7 year old brother and 11 year old sister. Appears to be plenty of action to make this a really fun game for all! So I would have to give it high marks. If you’re a little leary about purchasing it, you might try renting it first, which is what we did – they loved it!!
