3 Stars Not what I was expecting
I thought this game could be better. The game is not bad, in fact is quite interesting, but it is not so good for having 4 and half star. I think there are better games out there.

5 Stars Entertaining for single or multiplayer
I got this game because I was looking for one that would be equally fun when playing alone or with guests. This game has fit the bill and then some.

I will admit when I originally picked up this game I was skeptical of how fun it would be. Described as a ‘puzzle/action game’ it looked a bit basic in terms of skill level and complexity. I also worried that it would be something more enteraining for families with young children than twentysomethings. Happily this game proved me wrong and not only have my boyfriend and I gone through almost all the game play available, his mother also loved it so much she got her own copy.

There are many positives about the game. The first is that it is addictively fun. We have played it with many different crowds and have yet to find someone who doesn’t enjoy the game. Most are skeptical at first, but then addicted. It is an especially good game for newbies to the Wii because the game play is very easy to master and intuitive. Because of this less time is spent mastering the remote and more on enjoying the game. It also takes full advantage of the movement and possibilities of the Wii remote so it feels very different than playing a game on another system.

I also appreciated the variety of activities between a single game. Even though they are all different adapations of Jenga like games they are different enough to keep me entertained for hours. Each game felt different enough that even when I had made it through most of the levels the subsequent ones never felt repetitive or boring. There is even an in-game editor so you can build levels on your own, leading to seemingly endless gameplay.

Even though I can usually find some flaw with every video game I’ve purchased this was not the case with this game. If anything, I’m wishing it came with more levels so I could play longer.

Overall this is a great game that I would recommend whether you are into single or multiplayer gameplay. It is a particularly good game if you are new to the Wii system and want something you can master and enjoy quickly. It is easily up there with Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel and Super Mario Galaxy.

5 Stars Addictive Party Game
I’m a casual game. 20-30 minutes and I’m ready to do something else. I also like to play with friends as a social activity. This game is perfect for me because it’s essential the board game Jenga but with hundreds of interesting variations. The fun is in competing with your friends and talking trash, but it also takes some intelligence and spacial reasoning abilities.

If you like to play fun games that don’t have a steep learning curve so your friends can easily play, this is great game. Highly recommended.

5 Stars Great fun for young or old
This is a real sleeper of a great game.

You will have many, many hours of fun playing this one.

Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

5 Stars One of the best party games
I had never heard of this game until some friends and I went to rent a few games to play for the weekend. We found Boom Blox and thought it looked ok, so we took it home and played all night. I liked it so much I bought it.

The multiplayer mode is the best. We had tons of fun and played for hours, though, yes, our arms were sore the next day. Single player can be pretty fun, but it does get lonely after a while.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Kinda boring..
This game is kind of boring..I thought there would be more of a story line to it instead of just going to each animal by clicking on them and helping them. A child might like it better but as for me its not the best.

5 Stars Great Game!
I just played the game and it is so much fun!!! It’s interesting to see the different animals and to do all of the things to help. THe illnesses vary greatly from toothache where you do an actual extraction to zapping viruses with lasers. It does get more difficult as you go further and you also can get extra money and things for the zoo. You get new animals for the zoo as you care for the animals. I’m 31 and originally bought the game for my 6 yr old. WE both enjoyed it!!!!

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Have they even seen bullriding before?
Oh come on! This could have been a great game. The problem with this is that it’s obviously been created by someone who has only heard of bullriding through rough description. I’ve actually riden a few bulls myself, and will have to say that this is the laziest result that they could have produced! First, all the riders are right-handed riders. In reality, most riders are left-handed riders because you balance with your non-riding hand. Anyway, letting you select which hand to ride with, like in reality, would have been a simple step, and quite do-able, but the pure laziness of the game developers played a part here. Next, it’s virtually impossible to get thrown off! Maybe if you’re five and don’t like loosing, this game may be for you. But if you’ve already started to develop fine motor skills, you’ll find this game to be quite boring. I actually didn’t touch the controller for one of my rides, to see what would happen, and my character stayed on!!! Next, since bull-riding is about balance, this would have been a perfect game for the Wii. Hand movements should be used to constantly reposition yourself on the bull, like in real life. However, again, lazy programmers just have you moving a joystick around. This game is probably the greatest game that could have been, but never was. Thanks Crave Entertainment, for screwing up a game that should have been a no-brainer.

Let’s just hope that PBR gives their license to a different company in the future, and they can actually put a bit of effort into this. This could be a great game. This should be a great game. But, for all intents and purposes, it just isn’t.

2 Stars Out of the Chutes
This game was very interesting to my whole family. It is very hard to play. There is no member of our family that has been able to play this game well at all. It is very difficult to play. Wish it had better instruction on how to play.

3 Stars PBR: Out of the Chute
The game wasn’t what my son thought it would be. I thought there would be more action/moving around to the game. But it is fun to play as the bull and try to knock off your opponent. It is fun to play as some of the famous riders and bulls. It just wasn’t what we had expected that it would be. So that was the disappointment.

4 Stars Good Family Fun
My sons are big fans of the PBR so they HAD to have this game. And they love it! Unlike many video games they’ve played this one didn’t require a lot of instruction. They were quickly in the game either riding the bulls or playing as the bull and trying to buck the rider off. Their favorite thing to do is to play as the bull, buck the rider off and then either chase him around the arena or kick down the signs on the arena gates. That gets a lot of laughs. This is one of their favorite holiday gifts and I’d have to agree!

5 Stars Love It!!!!!
My son rides in the rodeo circuit as a bull and bronc rider. He can sit and play this game all day long. He loves it.

Gamestop Lies to Customers

November 27th, 2008 Nintendo Wii Review No comments
It looks like Gamestop has been holding back its supply of Wii Fit all week in order to save them for Black Friday. http://blogs.courant.com/george_gombossy/2008/11/gamestop-holding-back-wii-fit.html Sure, they have the legal right to do this. But I can understand the frustration some people must feel, especially if they don’t feel like fighting over the crowds. Anyways, who decided that everyone must shop on Black Friday anyway? It seems like a silly tradition to me. Tags: Black Friday, G
