Score International BAJA 1000

No race demands more endurance of both man and machine than the Baja 1000. SCORE International Baja 1000 recreates the unforgiving conditions and blistering speeds that make this event the most recognized and entertaining off-road racing event in the world. Sporting over 90 vehicles across multiple classes in the real Baja 1000 – including trophy trucks, class I, motorcycles, ATVs and more – the game challenges you to not only be first across the finish line, but also keep your machine intact. Hyper-realistic dirt and damage modeling in the game means you need to be crazy enough to take chances, but not so reckless that your vehicle is destroyed before the race is over.

I love this game ! I love the realistic vehicles that are in this game. Tracks are fun to race & love the way the vehicles drive. Plus you don’t have to race some weird vehicle that doesn’t really belong on a track. It’s just a fun game & hope they come out with more off road games that are more realistic like this game.

3 Stars Disappointing
This cover is more exciting than the game itself… So-so graphics, the voice warning about sharp left-right turns, jumps, etc., gets boring after awhile as it sounds like an 80’s arcada game coin-op voiceover… Shame Activision, seems you were in a rush to put this one out… Hopefully it will keep the kids busy for a bit so I can get some of my money’s worth… Rent it if you need to get it out of your system!

3 Stars Realistic, but not so good graphics
I actually leave in Ensenada (Home of the Baja Races), and this game shows realistic scenarios of some parts of the race, but the grahics are not that good.

Recomended for the hard core baja fans as part of their collection. But not so good for the videogames fans.

5 Stars Great family game!
This is a great game for kids and adults. This is your opportunity to train your pet to do tricks and train them for street races. Great multilayer fun and ability to unlock different clothing items for your virtual doggy. Every time you log on, it is always happy to see you. This is as close to a having a dog, without actually having one and you don’t even have to clean up after it!

2 Stars Cute dogs but . . . .
I bought this product for my daughter who loves dogs and loves Wii based on positive reviews from others. I was quite disappointed. It has very few activities (at least until you play for along time to unlock more) – and they are pretty boring – you can “pet” your dog, “dress” your dog, teach your dog tricks (supposedly) or race your dog. Petting is extremely boring, the dog tricks are really people tricks as you have to point at the screen with your Wii remote and guide a bone through a circle while the dog sits and watches. Racing may be fun in 2 player mode, but for single player there are no other dogs – your dog just runs himself (based on the player pumping the remote up and down). The dogs are VERY cute though and it is fun to name them – but that isn’t enough to make you want to play.

My daughter was home sick with nothing better to do and only wanted to play it for 10 minutes before asking to play her other Wii games instead. At my request she gave it more of a chance – but still after a short time was thoroughly bored and has not wanted to play it since that first day.

5 Stars Five Year Old LOVES IT!
We have tried basically every Wii game for my 5 year old and this is one of the top 10 for kids this little. With instructions given to her in the beginning she was able to take off and play on her own. Granted, theres not a lot to the game so I wouldnt recomment it for older kids, but its perfect for age groups 4-7! She really enjoy this game and unlike many games that weve tried and she gets frustrated with or is just not interested in, she likes this one.

5 Stars Fun Dog Game
This game is fun for kids and adults 4 and up. It is easy and fun to play. On singleplayer you get to adopt a dog(s) and pet him, teach him tricks, enter an agility course and win awards, dress him, play jumprope (which comes locked at first), and play catch (which also comes locked). My dad adopted a husky, my little brother adopted a German sheperd, and I adopted a pug. On multiplayer up to 3 friends can join your dog in an ajilitity course, but awards are not saved.

5 Stars Petz Sports Fun!
I got this for my 9 year old daughter who loves dogs but is a load of fun for the whole family. Great game!

5 Stars Great fun for the young horse lover!
This was part of my 7 year old granddaughter’s Christmas. What a big hit! She is turned off by many of the WII games; they just don’t hold her interest. Logan Grace loves horses and so Barbie’s Horse Adventures is the perfect video game for her.

3 Stars Okay Game but a Little Confusing
This Christmas we decided to buy a Nintendo Wii game system and wanted to purchase a Wii game for each of our children. Our daughter is 5 years old and loves horses. After reading reviews on different horse games, I decided that most would be too hard for her. At the time, I couldn’t find a review for the Barbie Horse Adventures, but took a chance anyway and purchased the game for her.

The game starts with Barbie arriving at Riding Camp which has lots of storm damage. She is instructed to pick out some riding clothes and a horse. Afterwards, she is shown how to care for her horse by feeding it and grooming it. This is all easy to follow but somewhat time consuming. Next, the riding instructor gives Barbie her first adventure, to ride around the arena in a timed race. From here, the player finds adventures such as riding events, storm clean-up events, and horse care events. At the completion of each adventure, camp credit is given for purchasing riding clothes and horse gear. You also earn awards for riding events.

Some things about the game were very intuitive and easy for my daughter to pick up. Controlling the horse isn’t too bad although my daughter tends to over steer with the Wii remote but I blame that on “operator error”. My reasons for giving the game an “Okay” rating is the confusion of finding your way around the island for the adventures. The map is hard to read on the screen and I found myself going back to the game paper insert for help. There are signposts occasionally but they are hard to read when you are riding past them on a horse. I have found that I need to play the game prior to my daughter playing it so that I can help her navigate and pick adventures that she will want to do. That said, it took me a couple of times of play to find our next adventure at the Racetrack. Another downfall of the game is relying on vocal instructions during game play to tell you about different items. For the first few days of playing the game, a virtual cell phone would ring. We had no idea of how to answer it. During one game, we happened to go a route and the instructions for cell phone use popped up as a helpful hint. We found that the cell phone was very important to the game (including how to exit the game) yet we hadn’t known how to access it for the first few times we played.

After several hours of play, I think that I can navigate fine through the game but my 5 year old would rather take care of the horses and ride throughout the pastures and not take on the adventures. She does seem to enjoy the game now but it has taken her a while to warm-up to it. In some ways, Barbie Horse Adventure: Riding Camp is like the PC software game, Let’s Ride which my daughter loves to play. I think that my daughter does better with the Let’s Ride game but of course there is more riding interaction with the Wii controller than with a PC mouse.

I believe this game is for a 6 to 8 year old. Some of the adventures were quite easy and would likely bore someone older than 5 or 6. I think someone much older would find the whole game on the dull side.

4 Stars Great for ages 5+
This game is a good game. I can see it getting old if you have finished the “assignments”. It really is very easy but I think you might need to be 5+ to play without frustration. You basically just ride around and ask your instructor what to do. Hell give you assignments like “run this trail” or “go find the water to water your horse”. But my 5 year old probably would give it a 7 out of 10 stars and I think its decent.

5 Stars Fun for All Ages
As retired folks, I find this game very amusing. Still a lot to learn on it, but we do okay with it.

4 Stars Excellent Game Despite the Negative Reviews
Anyone who begins a review with something such as “I put it back in the box after only ten minutes” is a knee-jerk gaming dolt. We want a review, not a cheap opinion. Dr. B offers very little in his negative rating. I agree that there may be a few superficially high ratings here, but it is evident that he, and a few others, have not played the game very much. The graphics and controls are fine, though the graphics indeed suffer in 3-4 player mode. There are three difficulty levels, and a myriad of unlockable tracks and trophies. You will discover that if you attempt to unlock all of the tracks that there are several extremely difficult “challenges” that can require several hours or even days to surpass; thus you may need to seek some advice or “cheats” to complete a series. So what if there is a similarity with Mario Kart? The weapons, etc., are well suited to the Nascar theme. The cheap critics pan the game as similar to Mario Kart and the rip its most distinctive attribute as “stupid.” As others have maintained, the team concept makes this game remarkably unique and enjoyable. My kids have played it since the day it was released and have not grown tired of it, or Mario Kart. In fact, one could make a good argument that both Nascar and Mario Kart are must-haves for the Wii.

5 Stars T. Williams
The game is a little difficult, but a lot of fun. It just takes a little practice at first.

1 Star Disappointing
I bought this game, played it for 10 mins, then put it back in the box. I was actually physically upset about how bad this game was. IT was a total waste of [..]

1 Star Very dissappointing, stick with Mario Kart
Very disappointed in this game. Graphics are much worse than Mario Kart, controls are clunky and it is way too easy. My wife and I both won first time out, no challenge at all and haven’t played since. The hazards and power-ups are a rip-off of Mario Kart. The “teammate” idea is, well, just plain stupid. Really hurts the game play. One other aspect, while Bowser or Toad yelling “yeah” is kind of neat, Jeff Gordon or Dale Jr. yelling “yea ha” is, sorry, but just plain stupid.

I know this has a lot of high ratings and I’m in the minority but given this from another reviewer you have to question all the high ratings. “Received product promtly, but have been so busy with other things, we have yet to play the game. But I feel it has to be good it is NASCAR!” Yet she gave it 5 stars. OK, whatever.
