1 Star This game sucks
I did not like this game. I could not even get pass the practice level. I do not know how all you people can play this game and call it good.

I want my money back please.

3 Stars Good game, but not great
This is a good game to have. It’s like Wario Ware with all the mini games, but not as great. It’s a bit more frustrating to get a good enough score to open up the next level. Timing in this game is everything. You need to use the stylus and flick or tap it on the screen to try and achieve your goal. If you have a lot of patience, then this is a good game to have.

4 Stars It’s funny
I ilke music and rhythm games

And I found Rhythm Heaven was fun and addictive ^^

I didn’t finish the game yet, but I keep replaying the stages I already finished to master them..

5 Stars Loads of Fun
This games is lots of fun but to play you must have coordination. I would recommend this game to anyone. Once you start playing it is hard to put down.

5 Stars This is a winner!
My daughter asked for this game and I purchased it. It arrived and she started playing. When she finally laid it down I picked it up and she hasn’t seen it since. I can’t believe I sit around playing games but this thing is addictive. I was so excited when I made it past the first three rows and there were more. I sing in a choir and I find my self more “in tune” with the rhythm. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. However this is not for the younger folks!

5 Stars DS LITES ROCK
unfortunately I was very disappointed with my purchase I was supposed to receive a bundle (which was advertised) but I only received the DS no carrying case no game. When contacting the seller he said too bad so sad.

(not in those words, but pretty much)

Other then I felt a lot cheated, the DS is awesome.

5 Stars Ice Blue Nintendo DS is really Robin’s Egg Blue (and beautiful)
Nintendo DS Lite Limited Edition Ice Blue with Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! And Carrying Case Bundle

I bought this Ice Blue Nintendo DS Lite with the intent of using it to play the Crosswords game with my granddaughter, although it came with the Brain Age game which I also enjoy. I could not make up my mind between the Ice Blue or the Rose Metallic colors, but finally took a chance that I’d like what they call ‘Ice Blue’. I found it is really almost identical to Crayola’s ‘robin’s egg blue’ color – so much so that I scribbled some of that color next to the console in the pictures I offered just so you can see how really nice this ‘blue’ (but to me seems more ‘green’) color really is. Also, the richness of the color is intensified by the hard clear plastic protective covering that surrounds the top and bottom parts of the console. It add a bit of additional depth to the color which I really enjoy. The rest of the game, inside and out, is of a ‘matte’ finish. The front edge has a sliding volume control, a ’slot 2′ for some gameboy cartridges, and a headphone/mic outlet. I’ve used both the Nintendo head/mic offered as well as just earphones from various manufacturers. You get a bit more accuracy with voice commands using a mic in a noisy environment, else the mic in the console works fine. The right edge has a slot for the stylus and a power button that slides to the right to turn on or off. Some people who complain about the unit discharging too fast are probably either forgetting to turn the unit off before they close it (even though there is a flashing indicator light warning you’ve done this) or they’ve adjusted the brightness of the screen to a high level. I’m still using mine at the factory settings and don’t see a need to change them. The back edge has spring-loaded buttons on the right and left corners for use in games. They are responsive and easy to use. In the center of the back edge is ’slot 1′ where you load the Nintendo DS games. You push the game into it until it clicks to lock in-then push it again to release it. (You can’t just yank the game cartridge out if it’s in the locked position.) To the right of slot 1 is the outlet to plug the power adaptor into it to either charge the battery or play plugged in. To the left of slot 1 is a place where you can hang a lanyard to carry the console. I prefer to use the very nice patent leather case supplied with the console. On the bottom, the replaceable rechargeable battery is enclosed by a cover secured by a tiny screw.(I’ve not needed to replace anything with this unit, and I’ve had it for 4 months so far without problems.) The left edge of the unit has no features at all, just a smooth surface. When you open it, the lid and base each has a screen, with the lid’s screen being a little bit smaller than the base’s. You tip the console sideways, as if it were a book, if you play the Brain Age or Crosswords games. (I have liked playing both these games.) I bought a screen-saver for the bottom screen which is the only one you should ever ‘touch’ with finger or stylus. Nintendo warns you not to put any screen-saver on the top screen, so I have not. Unfortunately, I’ve not yet found screen-savers sold that are just for the bottom only, so the top ones I have to discard since they are smaller so they don’t properly cover the bottom screens. Centered on the hinge is a small slot. This is the mic or microphone. It works well, but if you are in a very noisy area, you might prefer the headphone + mic accessory. On the far right on the hinge there are 2 small light strips: the one furthest to the right edge indicates green for power on (or flashes green if the console is closed but the power was not turned off); the one next to it indicates red for battery needs recharging, or indicates yellow when the unit is charging, then green when it is fully charged and ready for use. The control buttons to the right and left of the bottom screen are used in game play. I find the stylus works great for writing letters or numbers on the touch screen. My only warning is to never forget which screen you can really touch, so you don’t damage that upper unprotected screen.

The case: The patent leather case matches the color of the console and secures with a snap closure that has a metal plate with the Nintendo logo stamped into it. The paten leather is machine stitched with matching thread. When you open the lid of the case, the interior is black and feels like suede. A bit of black elastic a little over an inch wide is stitched into the lid. It is sized to hold 3 game cartridges, but I also put the little screen cleaning cloth (supplied with the console) in there for handy use. The bottom part of the case holds a compartment in which the console is secured by a zipper with 2 pulls, making it easy for you to choose where you want those zipper pulls to hang (either hidden behind the snap closure, or hanging visible to one side or other of it). The top and sides of this inner case is the same Ice Blue color as the exterior and lined with a felt material that rises up to protect the console from the zipper teeth then zipped closed. Nice design. At first it seemed too snug to me, but I learned that if I put the console in with the front edge first, then guided the rear edge into the felted compartment, it was a nice snug fit with no chance of damage or scratches.

Overall, I liked the design and function of this game console and the case that came with it. Even if I did not like the Brain Age game (which I do), I’d have chosen this one for the color of the console and case, and the sturdiness of the case.

5 Stars Not a Pink kinda Girl!
I love this color! I had wanted a DS for a really long time but I don’t like red or pink. The other colors didn’t appel either, thought I would have to get plain silver and find some kind of skin….As soon as I saw this set I ordered it. I had seen it on Ebay but had to order from Japan, or some where. And then when I saw the set came with the Brain Age, that was one of the games I wanted too. The part of the game I knew about was great but then I found it had suduko too. I never could figure those puzzles out till I got this. I love being able to put the ‘little’ numbers in while you figure it all out, would be really messy on paper. I love suduko now. This is a great set! My 7 yr old neice wanted to trade me colors too. They thought it was cool that their old aunt had a game like theirs. LOL The only thing better would have been this set in a green about the same shade.

5 Stars Great for a present
This was bought for an 11 year old girl. The blue is very much loved because it is different than most of the kids’ DS’s. Definitely getting used.

4 Stars Thinkin’ game
This came to me as advertised, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. The game I wanted to help with my memory, it seems to be doing that.

Gameplay
You make the whole story, as you and up to three other players move into a town and just live life. Befriend your animal neighbors, decorate your house with cool furnishings, fill up your wardrobe, get to know the local wildlife, hop on a bus to visit the new city and just explore the world. There are a million different ways to play. Every charming animal character has a personality: some are grouches while others are chatterboxes. And there’s no final goal or high score to hit. The game keeps going for as long as you want to play, and your town will always be there when you return. Move into town, buy a house and then do whatever you want. Time and seasons pass as they do in the real world, so there’s always something different happening. Collect more than 2,400 items, go fishing for rare and interesting fish, catch all kind of cool bugs, dig up dinosaur fossils and buried treasure, hang out with other players or spend the day in the city. There’s so much to do, and you have all the time in the world to explore it all.

DS Suitcase Mode
The DS Suitcase lets you carry your character from your Wii console to a friend’s, thus giving people without an Internet connection the ability to experience multiplayer modes. Additionally, you can move your character from Animal Crossing: Wild World on Nintendo DS and play as him/her in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Key Game Features

  • There’s Always Something New To Do: In the living, breathing world of Animal Crossing: City Folk, days and seasons pass in real time, so there’s always something to discover. Catch fireflies in the summer, go trick-or-treating on Halloween or hunt for eggs on Bunny Day. If you’re in the mood for something a little faster paced, take a bus to a new urban city area that’s unique to Animal Crossing: City Folk. There you can catch a show at the theater or check out the sales at Gracie’s boutique. But if you don’t show your face back home for too long, your neighbors will miss you.
  • Play With and Hear Up to Four Friends: Up to four people from your household can live and work together to build the perfect town. Design clothes and patterns, write letters and post messages on the bulletin board for each other, or play online using your broadband connection and invite up to three friends to visit your town using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. With the new optional Wii Speak microphone (sold separately), it’s like you’re all in the same room. The microphone sits atop the sensor bar and picks up the conversation of everyone in the room to encourage a more inclusive experience.
  • Get to Know Your Neighbors: The heart of Animal Crossing: City Folk is building relationships with the animals in your town as well as with other players. Befriend your animal neighbors by exchanging letters, gifts and favors. Animals can also move from town to town, bringing their memories and stories from their old towns with them. And since animals are notoriously loose-lipped, they spill all the juicy details.
  • Express Your Personal Style: Customize your town, your house and yourself by collecting bugs, fish, fossils, art, furniture, clothes and accessories. You can also go to the salon in the city to change your hairstyle and get a Mii makeover. Plus, if you design clothes in the tailor’s shop, animals will wear them and maybe even bring them to other towns.

Your Neighbors
Familiar faces such as K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Blathers and Mr. Resetti all appear, as well as a bunch of new characters like Festivale host Pav?and Bug-Off judge Bud. Many characters who occasionally visited your town in previous Animal Crossing games have now set up permanent shop in the city, so you can see them anytime.

Special Powers, Weapons, Moves & Features:
Use the Wii Remote pointer to type letters, use items, draw designs for clothing or wallpaper, drag clothing or items onto your characters, interact with animals or objects, or lead your character around the world. Use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to hang out in real time with up to three of your friends. You can also send them e-mails and text messages from the game. Play at different times of the year to experience different activities, holidays and seasons. And when visiting a friend in another country, experience the holidays native to their culture.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Up to four people can play together in real time via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The host opens his or her gate to allow friends into the town, where they can perform all sorts of activities: fish, write letters to townsfolk, shop at the store, swap items, play hide-and-seek … anything. Up to four players can interact in real-time, communicating via text chat, mic chat and emoticons.

WiiConnect24:
Using WiiConnect24, you can buy and sell items to friends by participating in silent auctions, view actual players’ homes in the Happy Room Academy office or send letters to other players’ towns.

5 Stars BEST GAME EVER
Im only 12 and I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I got it a year ago when it first came out on my birthday and it is just incredible. I have the DS game too so i was sooo eager to get the wii version. Its pretty much like all the other AC versions of this game. I LOVE HOW U DONT HAVE TO SHARE A HOUSE and how the houses are all scattered around town just like our animal neighbours. I got my house on the upper level where its on the edge of the upper level. Theres tree’s all around my house so its really pretty. Tom Nook is the same pretty much. HERE IS ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW: Lyle doesn’t come to your house every saturday like in the ds game. I was really young when i had the ds game and i actually got very afraid to play the game on saturdays because of a nightmare i had.. LOL. Instead he works at the City with his own place. He runs the Happy Room Academy and picks the best room in my town about every month or so. I always win =) Im disspointed i dont get any prize or anything. In the city there is also a shop with the fortune teller, so u can see ur fortune every day. But just like in the ds (idk about gc) Her fortunes dont mean anything. The graphics are much much much better than ds and gc!! The cool thing is that on ur wii u can make a wii mii and u can make ur character on AC to look exactly like ur mii!! There is also an auctioning place so u can auction something… the thing is u cant bid for anything, because only u or a friend can auction things which sucks.. I wish animals auctioned stuff too. The fruits are the same and so are the bugs and fishes. There is tons of Mario stuff in this game, the balloons and presents have mario stuff which is soo much easier than glitching the game. There are also silver tools other than gold tools and regular tools. such as the silver shovel, the silver shovel gives u more money when u hit a rock. Its a secret on how to get it though. K.K. slide still comes every saturday night and whats cool is that the whole museum is about 2 times bigger than the ds version. especially the fossils because the fossils part has an upstairs! This game is awesome and reallly fun and i recommend this to all ages!!! This is pretty much like regular life except A WHOLE LOT EASIER so when ur sad and getting down or stressed.. Just play this game because it will really calm u down. Plus if your stressed at a neighbour at town.. u can just talk to Pelly and she’ll sort it all out. Plus if u have never played animal crossing let me just tell ya: a common fish is worth a T-shirt, and 2 really really rare fish is worth a small house in AC!!! so thats how easy it is and the best part YOU DONT HAVE TO FEED YOUR CHARACTER!! u can feed it fruit but u dont have 2!! it never dies!! thats the best part and u can never finish ur game.. your person will remain alive forever.

5 Stars Solid game.
Good game. Pick it up for some good old brainless activity to pass the time while waiting for something to cook, for example.

1 Star Weird!!
Gathering and shopping… it got very old quickly! If you miss the dates…you can’t even go to certain shops. No goals other then to pay off a mortgage and then pay off an outrageous fee for upgrading. The graphics are bad. Maybe if you had someone to play with ..it might be ok…but my family all thought it was a joke of a program and would not play after seeing it.

4 Stars My own town!!! Cool game.
I got this game for Christmas…I dont think it has left the console since I got it;-) There is alot to this game…planting trees, flowers, fishing, picking fruit to make money, buying clothes, furniture. Its really your own little town. Very fun. I love it AND I love the wii speak!

We bought this game for my mom and now she and I play live on-line…its really great fun!!!!!

1 Star Exactly the same, only BAD!
The original Animal Crossing is wonderful. I bought it shortly after it came out (several years ago), and yet I still play it! I bought this new version, expecting the same core gameplay, updated for the Wii. Well, that’s what I got. Only problem is, as other reviewers have said, there are very few updates. That wouldn’t bother me so much, but what has been changed has been changed for the WORSE! Instead of the simple “acre” system from the first game, you now have to walk on a round “globe”. Personally, it made me dizzy, and it also makes it hard to find things. Everything must be controlled with the Wii remote. To do something as simple as open the menu, you have to raise your arm, move the cursor, and click on something (where previously you could just push a button); while walking around, I had to keep my arm raised CONSTANTLY. Very tiring. But the worst of all is that you can no longer ask your neighbors for jobs, etc! THEY will approach YOU if they want something; if you talk to them more than once in a row, they get annoyed and start yelling at you. This makes it much harder to find things to do. Just to add insult to injury, they now make you water the flowers. That’s right, you must water EVERY SINGLE FLOWER, EVERY DAY. Otherwise they turn brown. After two days of watering flowers and hanging around, waiting for the villagers to ask me for something, I got bored out of my skull and went back to the GC Animal Crossing. I have never been happier. End of story.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars good game but the 2 screens kinda suck
ok the game itself is pretty good but the only reason they put the 2 screens on your tv is cause it’s the only way they could let people who have this for the wii and ds play together

4 Stars Pretty good for a DS port.
Echoes of time for the Wii as well all know is a port for the Nintendo DS. The only big difference between them is the trailor for crystal bearers, and being able to use your Mii. Going into this game knowing that it was a DS port, doesn’t make it seem nearly as bad, kinda like playing a rom. So let’s break down this review into sections.

Graphics:

On the DS, I’m sure this game looks rather impressive, the Wii however, it looks like an early PS2 game at best. If your TV isn’t very big, it doesn’t look too pixilated, but still noticeable. There are two screens present on the TV at the same time, the left being the top screen of the DS, and the right being the bottom screen. Being able to increase screen sizes by using the (+) and (-) buttons was rather useful.

Sound:

Nothing special to be honest. Each character has his/her own ‘voice’ that consists of grunts and moans from attacking and getting hurt. The music is decent for being a handheld port, but nothing that i really appreciated all that much.

Gameplay:

This game turns out to be pretty fun, reminds me a lot of a Zelda game with multiple characters. Playing single player can get a little boring towards the end of the game, even slightly frustrating when it comes to magic some times. Multiplayer on the other hand is quite enjoyable, especially if you are playing with some friends. I’ve noticed a little bit of lag every once in a while, but nothing that really degrades game play. Being a live action RPG really works for this game surprisingly well. The biggest problem i have with the game is the intelligence of your team mates, they are idiots. if you jump over a hole, expect them to just fall right in until they die… which takes quite a few falls. There are only 5 settings for the computer players, not one of them seems all that useful. Being able to make your own character has it’s on advantages, and disadvantages. On the plus side, you get to pick which character you’d like to be, boy or girl for a total of 8 choices. Eventually you get to pick your hair color or use a Mii for your face. Equiping new armor will actually change your appearance, which is a great new addition in my opinion. On the bad side, the story seems to be aimed in a general direction, so there is no real reference to your specific character choice, no one mentions your name in a cut scene, nothing. The equipment in this game has been done differently than other games, you can either buy armor/weapons from the normal shop at full price or you can find materials from fighting monsters and bring them to the custom order shop and get things cheaper and sooner in the game. Another thing I was happy about was every class can equip any item, or all I’ve come across thus far. The controls are a little hard to get used to as well, but after a while it feels pretty comfortable. Overall, I enjoy this game, though i feel it is very short, but that is what gameplus is for… right?

Story:

This is where I feel most disappointed. Square-Enix is pretty well known for having very involved stories in their games, so I was pretty excited to be drawn into a new one, I was wrong. The whole thing about ‘crystal sickness’ didn’t do much for me. It carries on from there, but I wouldn’t want to ruin anything for anyone, either way it still doesn’t drag you in like the other great Final Fantasy games.

Summary:

Overall I thought this game was pretty good for what it was. If you have a DS, I’d suggest buying the DS version since the game was made for it. For Wii owners and fans of the Final Fantasy series, definitely rent this game first, and buy it if you like it. Another thing to take into consideration is an internet connection, the game is significantly more fun with other people.

3/5 without an internet connection.

4/5 with an internet connection.

If You noticed something I forgot to mention, or need clarification on something I’ve said, feel free to let me know, and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

2 Stars made for ds, not wii
I should have read these reviews before purchasing. The guy at the store warned me this was basically playing a ds game on your wii. He said not to expect much from the graphics. I was envisioning the pictures. I wanted my son to play it on a big screen, not all hunched over his ds. We should have bought it for the ds. Some of the words cannot be read on the television screen. He loves the game itself and says it’s fun. But I think it is pitiful that he can’t read everything.

5 Stars Just know what your buying
This is a fun game if you know what you are getting into. My brother in Panama and I play all the time and its wonderful! He and my wife and sister all play it together and its fun to spend time together even if we are so far away. Just realize its no visual gym and most likley better on DS, but its fun and nice to use. Just wish ANY game woul duse WiiSpeak…

4 Stars Not as bad as everyone seems to think
I actually have really enjoyed this game. It has its pros and cons, but overall I think that it is very fun. I’m not a huge gamer (the only other FF game I’ve played is FF3 for the SNES), so maybe I have lower expectations than some people. I’ve played about 10 hours into the game, and here are my opinions on the pros and cons:

Pros:

Fun story line, easy to learn controls, side quests are fun, customizable weapons, online multiplayer

Cons:

Sometimes the AI characters are idiots (repeatedly jump into a chasm, for example), the magic can be hard to aim at first, some things are a bit too easy, though I think there are harder difficulties once you’ve finished the game

In response to the complaints that others have had about the game:

The “playable” screen size can be increased to about 3/4 of your tv, which I find is plenty. It’s pretty easy to switch between the screens, though I only find it necessary to do that when I’m in the town buying weapons etc. The graphics aren’t amazing, but they aren’t as pixilated as people have implied (or maybe I just don’t have a big enough TV to see that). I tried the online multiplayer and it was fun. I didn’t notice it being too slow, but it was hard to talk to the other players since you only have a limited amount of customizable phrases. The controls don’t take full advantage of the wii’s motion sensing, but a lot of games don’t (Brawl, for example). I guess it would be fun if you could swing the remote to attack like in Zelda, but honestly, I don’t think it would add much (it didn’t really in Zelda at least since it was just wild waving). I’m not sure what people are referring to when they say they can’t do things because it is not touch screen as I’ve not had that problem at all.

Overall, I think this game is very fun. It plays similarly to Twilight Princess since it has dungeons with puzzles(usually not too difficult) and a big boss at the end. Once you get used to the average graphics and the dual screen it will be a lot of fun.

5 Stars Power Tennis
This is a really fun way to play video tennis. A wide variety of characters to choose from, each with their own personality and tennis ability. The graphics are fantastic and look great on a wide screen HD TV. The “play control” takes a little getting use to, but if you use full motions for each of the strokes you want to use it’s much easier than trying abbreviated movements. The “power shot” is a bit much, and I prefer playing the game with it turned off. I guess I’m a tennis realist, per se, and want to win the point without the gimmicks. There are a wide variety of playing courts and court surfaces. The ball action appears to be true to form is you are playing on clay, grass, carpet or hard courts. You can also play a night game also. This game makes for fun play at parties also, getting doubles play going. I also like that you have the option of playing singles, instead of being stuck with two of you on the same side of the net playing pseudo doubles (since both of your Miis move at the same time even though you are doing a net shot or a ground stroke from the baseline. Highly recommend this game.

3 Stars More like whack-a-ball than real tennis
I just got this game for my younger sister, and it is fun for people who like the Wii sports genre. However, the play control doesn’t really allow for intense games of tennis. Unlike real tennis, as long as you do the swing correctly, the ball will go in the general direction of the person on the other side. The only way to mess up is to not time your swing correctly or end up on the other side of the court (both of which do happen frequently). I hadn’t realized this initially, to I tried to twist the racket after my swing to give the ball some twist, but in the game this didn’t do much. However, within these limits, the game can be pretty fun – but is more like a game of whack-a-ball than full-fledged tennis.

5 Stars Awesome Game
I bought the game for my 10 years old daughter and she love it. Great game.

2 Stars Not as good as the Gamecube version
I was kind of disappointed when I found out that Nintendo was just renewing this game and putting it onto the wii. But I wanted to get this game because I actually wanted to “move” my character around the tennis court and it looked fun to use the power shots with the wii remote.

This game was different, but I’m not so sure if that’s a good different. All the courts are the same, but in order to make some shots, you have to make a complicated move with the wii remote and nunchuk. Everything else was the same and that didn’t excite me the way Mario Power Tennis Gamecube did. The actual tennis playing is what I have the most issues with. When you make your shot, you can’t control it so you can’t make any impossible shots that your foes can’t get. I ALSO HATE OUTS. You cannot control your shot AT ALL so hitting outs for me is very common. I have NO IDEA what Nintendo was thinking on just renewing this game. It should be different. And in a GOOD way.
