4 Stars Wii Monster cable
The cable provides secure connections and appears to perform as advertised. Subjective comment; it does not appear to be up to the same quality standards as other Monster cable I own. The cable itself and the connectors do not have the same heavy duty quality feel as Monster’s A/V cables I own. Other than that, I have no complaints.

5 Stars Wii Monster Cable hook up
These cables are great big difference from using the cables that come with the Wii in the first place. Works great on my 1080i Sharp HD TV Worth the price !!!!!

5 Stars Only Monster
Is there REALLY anything else to say here… If your not using monster cable equipment already than you better crawl out from whatever rock your under ask somebody. Simply the best!

5 Stars You definitely get what you pay for! Way better than the first party cables
I just bought these cables for my Wii and man, it makes a GREAT difference! I recently had the first party Nintendo component cables, but when I found out about these, I had to get them. I sold, that’s right sold, my first party cables to get the Monster ones and there IS A BIG DIFFERENCE in performance! My brother and I immediately noticed the difference in performance. We thought the first party cables were good until I put these babies on, and it’s like night and day.

Not only are the cables thicker, when you install them, you can feel them getting a good connection as they aren’t too easily removed or installed. Also, the Monster cable is longer that the first party one, letting you have some flexibility on where you can put the Wii. Even GameCube games with Progressive Scan compatibilty look beautiful when playing on the Wii. I also recommend getting your TV adjusted using the THX optimizer (w/the THX Blue glasses if you can) on any THX Certified DVD to bring out the picture in any TV. You will not be dissapointed!

5 Stars Much worth it
I had to write a review on this product because i myself was very skeptical when i bought these cables. One because i have bought things from Amazon, that had great customer reviews and then i found that the product was in fact, not so great.

I have a 50 inch Samsung 1080p plasma, and they do make a huge difference. I first tried it out on “Smash Brothers Brawl” and right away when i started playing the characters looked way more detailed. Granted still not in HD. Still, I was running these games on the standard composite cables that come with the system. I’m not sure if the actual “Monster” cables make a difference to due the fact that i have no other cables to compare to, but i can tell you that these cables will with out a doubt make your wii games much much more clear. The end.

5 Stars Does the job
If you want to have 480p from your Wii to your HDTV/Projector this is the cable. Don’t forget to go in the Wii Settings to switch to 480p. There is not a significant improvement if your HDTV/Projector already did signal processing to enhance the quality picture.

5 Stars HD Cable Review
Cable is of high quality. Connected it up and it works well. Ends are gold plated. Why pay more for the official Nintendo brand when these do the same job. I would buy them again. Highly recommended.

5 Stars Debatable picture quality improvement
I always look for the best sound / picture possible out of a source without spending hundreds of dollars to make it perfect. For a reasonable price, I thought I’d try this out with my new Wii as component is always known for being better that composite video…

I’ve set all the widescreen and progressive scan options in the Wii and the image quality is good. The question, however, is there any improvement over the standard Wii cable included. I’m using a 32″ LCD TV, and perhaps with a larger TV you’d see a bigger difference. I’ve never actually tried the original cable, but I’ve seen other Wiis with composite, and it’s still decent…

If I was giving the component feature of the Wii a review, it would probably be 3 out of 5 starts. But because this review is really to focus on the quality of the cable itself, the Nyko equivalent definitely gets 5 stars. Connectors are gold plated and the wires don’t seem skimpy. Definitely a reasonable substitute for the Nintendo branded cable.

3 Stars HD Link
The only complaint about this product is that you cant plug in the white and red cables into a stereo system. What i’ve done before is to plug the yellow cable to the T.V. and the others (red and white) into the stereo, which gives you a whole different sound quality than any T.V. could. That said, it’s a shame i bought it.

2 Stars I didn’t realize this only upgrades you to 480p from default 480i
I bought this cable without doing much research so please make sure you know this before purchasing: The only upgrade this cable offers is 480p (over the standard 480i cable that ships with the Wii)! If you don’t know the difference between 480i and 480p it’s simple…the refresh rate. 480i offers 30fps vs 480p’s 60fps. There is absolutely NO VISUAL IMPROVEMENT with this cable.

With that said, this cable does exactly what it should do and I have no complaints with it’s performance. Simply with the fact that you are nearly purchasing the same cable you already have.

Nintendo Wii Component AV Cables

Nintendo Wii Component AV Cables

It would be a shame to own a Wii and a high definition capable television and not own these cables. Better graphics, better quality, and better sound, these will make any gaming experience more enjoyable! See and experience the Wii with the best quality possible on your HDTV.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Disappointed
My complaints have nothing to do with the quality of this cable but with the “component” image you receive when turning on progressive scan on the Wii. In my opinion while the image may be a little sharper on my 42 inch 720p capable display it actually looks worse than interlace because of the pixilation you can now see.

5 Stars A Must for large TV’s
For the Nintendo Wii, let’s face it. 480i is not bad, but when the TV’s get larger in size, you can start to detect the fuzziness of the picture. Getting the component cable bumps it up to 480p, effectively doubling the resolution in one dimension (though I don’t remember which one). While not necessary for Wii Sports, though it does make a difference there, it is pretty sweet upgrade for games such as Zelda (which is about all I can speak for as of now). Obviously, while I recommend this for larger TV’s to remove the grain, on smaller TV’s this just makes the picture quality seem crisp and clear.

4 Stars Wii Component Cable review
This component cable works perfectly. The only issue that some users might run into is this: the audio cables are not separated from the video cables–keep this in mind before you buy this brand. Make sure on your HDTV / EDTV that the blue, green and red video cinputs are closeby your red and white audio inputs. I haven’t run into this issue, but others might. Great off-brand product.

5 Stars Great buy for the Wii
I bought these because they are far cheaper then most on the market and the quality of the cables is good. With most component cables all 5 cables are split at the same place so you may need audio extensions to reach to your receiver. You can find the cable and female2female connectors you need on amazon for a cheap price.

These cables to supply a 480p image and the complaints about pixelation are just by those who don’t understand SD and HD resolution and how games are made. These cables work great and the price is a bargain. A good buy.

2 Stars Mine broke!
I got these thinking they were a good deal, despite the reservations I hold about buying third-party hardware. For a while, they worked great and I was happy, but a few months after my purchase, the sound cables and the blue input stopped working correctly, resulting in a reddish-green image and a lot of high-pitched beeping whenever I turned on my system. If you want decent HD cables for your Wii, spring the extra 20 for the ones Nintendo makes (they’ve been working great for me).

Using this YUV cable you can achieve the maximum video quality out of the Wii console. “Progressive Scan” signals with 480 rows. Assumption for this high quality is a TV, beamer, plasma or LCD TV with a chinch component input (YUV).
