Boom Blox

Boom Blox

Fun for kids and the entire family, BOOM BLOX offers action-packed interactive activities that takes Wii play to a new level of creativity and fun with single player, co-op, and versus gameplay. Players can explore the visceral gameplay that keeps them destroying their way through brain-twisting challenges. They can interact with entertaining characters such as the Blox-laying chickens or the baseball-throwing monkeys, who bring personality to the Tiki, Medieval, Frontier, and Haunted themed environments. Additionally, players can remix any level of the game in Create Mode using props, blocks, or characters that have been unlocked during the game. Players can also virtually build anything they can dream up. Plus, their designs can then be shared with friends or used to challenge others to solve their newly created puzzle via WiiConnect24.

3 Stars Not what I was expecting
I thought this game could be better. The game is not bad, in fact is quite interesting, but it is not so good for having 4 and half star. I think there are better games out there.

5 Stars Entertaining for single or multiplayer
I got this game because I was looking for one that would be equally fun when playing alone or with guests. This game has fit the bill and then some.

I will admit when I originally picked up this game I was skeptical of how fun it would be. Described as a ‘puzzle/action game’ it looked a bit basic in terms of skill level and complexity. I also worried that it would be something more enteraining for families with young children than twentysomethings. Happily this game proved me wrong and not only have my boyfriend and I gone through almost all the game play available, his mother also loved it so much she got her own copy.

There are many positives about the game. The first is that it is addictively fun. We have played it with many different crowds and have yet to find someone who doesn’t enjoy the game. Most are skeptical at first, but then addicted. It is an especially good game for newbies to the Wii because the game play is very easy to master and intuitive. Because of this less time is spent mastering the remote and more on enjoying the game. It also takes full advantage of the movement and possibilities of the Wii remote so it feels very different than playing a game on another system.

I also appreciated the variety of activities between a single game. Even though they are all different adapations of Jenga like games they are different enough to keep me entertained for hours. Each game felt different enough that even when I had made it through most of the levels the subsequent ones never felt repetitive or boring. There is even an in-game editor so you can build levels on your own, leading to seemingly endless gameplay.

Even though I can usually find some flaw with every video game I’ve purchased this was not the case with this game. If anything, I’m wishing it came with more levels so I could play longer.

Overall this is a great game that I would recommend whether you are into single or multiplayer gameplay. It is a particularly good game if you are new to the Wii system and want something you can master and enjoy quickly. It is easily up there with Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel and Super Mario Galaxy.

5 Stars Addictive Party Game
I’m a casual game. 20-30 minutes and I’m ready to do something else. I also like to play with friends as a social activity. This game is perfect for me because it’s essential the board game Jenga but with hundreds of interesting variations. The fun is in competing with your friends and talking trash, but it also takes some intelligence and spacial reasoning abilities.

If you like to play fun games that don’t have a steep learning curve so your friends can easily play, this is great game. Highly recommended.

5 Stars Great fun for young or old
This is a real sleeper of a great game.

You will have many, many hours of fun playing this one.

Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

5 Stars One of the best party games
I had never heard of this game until some friends and I went to rent a few games to play for the weekend. We found Boom Blox and thought it looked ok, so we took it home and played all night. I liked it so much I bought it.

The multiplayer mode is the best. We had tons of fun and played for hours, though, yes, our arms were sore the next day. Single player can be pretty fun, but it does get lonely after a while.

4 Stars Learn to play it and it’s a lot of fun
This game is not a great “rental”. You need to spend some time with it, just like you need to spend time with real bowling, to become good at it. I think the folks who dislike it expected a cute little diversion, like the pack-in, but instead got handed a more realistic simulation that they, frankly, couldn’t handle.

There’s no doubt that this game was rushed. No options for different balls, ball weights, lane conditions, etc. However, anyone who thinks this game is worse than the pack-in Wii-Sports bowling has been competing against his Grandma too much. After getting a feel for this game and the far more realistic control it provides, Wii Sports bowling, well, just sucks.

This game provides a far more realistic bowling experience for your Wii, [...]

Get it and learn to play it. You won’t be sorry.

2 Stars wii bowling is better
we still do not know how to get the controllers working so that 4 people can play at the same time. we use one controller and that is just not fun.

2 Stars Ok game..but Wii Sports is much more fun.
The game is ok. But the ball is hard to control. The Wii sports bowling that comes with the system is soooo much more fun.

1 Star Total waste if you’re left-handed
I can’t believe this company thinks the whole bowling world is right-handed. But judging by the rest of the reviews, which hand you use is irrelevant because the game is a total disappointment. What a waste of money.

1 Star Complete waiste of money – DON’T BUY
I bought this game as a christmas gift for my daughter and it was a complete waiste of money. The gameplay sucks. And when I could not set up more than one wii remote for mulitple players I emailed the developers and asked them how to do it assumming that I was doing something wrong.

After a week I finally got a response from them telling me that they were to stupid to set up the game to support more than one wii remote so although the game can be played by up to 4 players, each player has to pass the one wii remote between each other for each turn.

I will never buy anything that was developed by mudduck software again…these people clearly don’t have any idea what they are doing!

1 Star Wii Game
It is a very hard game to play. The kids coukd not do any of the games which was frustrating and the adults stuggled

5 Stars very challenging
This game is very good. I find it to be more challenging and difficult than I expected. The instructions are not very clear, so I fell A LOT. Luckily, unlike real life skiing, it doesn’t hurt!!! Great game once you get the hang of the controls, highly recommend.

4 Stars Not thrilling, but fun….
This game is a lot of fun, but it is not exactly a thrill, seat of your pants, kind of game. There are so many different games to play, that you will be hard pressed to not enjoy something about this game. The graphics are good. The game play is good. The controls are good. My son loves it. My daughter loves it. It’s a lot of fun and at this price, it is a good value…..Let the games begin!

2 Stars Maybe I just don’t get it…
This game has many sport options, however I don’t enjoy it. I didn’t really understand the instructions and the ones provided on the game are not very helpful. All in all, maybe as an amatuer gamer- it’s just not for me. I was hoping it would be fun and it is just frustrating. I guess my patience level is low for entertainment that is impossible on the EZ settings. I would only recommend if you think you can master any game!

3 Stars Winter sports chalanging games
some of the games are very chalanging and tiring for older people like speed skating and cross country skiing but the slalom skiing and ski jumping are hilarious and the commentating is out of this world

4 Stars Great fun for all/most the family
A great game; FOR ITS TARGET AUDIENCE. If you are 8-10 years old you will probably love it… if not it might be a bit easy and repatative.

If you can grab four friends to play a game of cricket or 9-18 holes of disc golf; then people of any age will love it.

Fun for ALL the familly…well maybe not the Emo teenager locked in thier room..

1 Star Very disappointed
The games are very poorly designed. There is no fun in these games, it will frustrate you. Kids even don’t like it because the re is not much action and fun in this cd. Avoid buying it if you can.

5 Stars disc golf fun year around
My husband is a huge disc golfer said this is the first disc golf game he has ever found thinks its good fun

5 Stars Big Beach Sports
The whole family really enjoy playing this game because we love the beach and this is a way for us to participate in different beach activities while were inside our house…..!

3 Stars Not great
The graphics leave something to be desired. Not as fun as it should be.

5 Stars Great family game!
This is a great game for kids and adults. This is your opportunity to train your pet to do tricks and train them for street races. Great multilayer fun and ability to unlock different clothing items for your virtual doggy. Every time you log on, it is always happy to see you. This is as close to a having a dog, without actually having one and you don’t even have to clean up after it!

2 Stars Cute dogs but . . . .
I bought this product for my daughter who loves dogs and loves Wii based on positive reviews from others. I was quite disappointed. It has very few activities (at least until you play for along time to unlock more) – and they are pretty boring – you can “pet” your dog, “dress” your dog, teach your dog tricks (supposedly) or race your dog. Petting is extremely boring, the dog tricks are really people tricks as you have to point at the screen with your Wii remote and guide a bone through a circle while the dog sits and watches. Racing may be fun in 2 player mode, but for single player there are no other dogs – your dog just runs himself (based on the player pumping the remote up and down). The dogs are VERY cute though and it is fun to name them – but that isn’t enough to make you want to play.

My daughter was home sick with nothing better to do and only wanted to play it for 10 minutes before asking to play her other Wii games instead. At my request she gave it more of a chance – but still after a short time was thoroughly bored and has not wanted to play it since that first day.

5 Stars Five Year Old LOVES IT!
We have tried basically every Wii game for my 5 year old and this is one of the top 10 for kids this little. With instructions given to her in the beginning she was able to take off and play on her own. Granted, theres not a lot to the game so I wouldnt recomment it for older kids, but its perfect for age groups 4-7! She really enjoy this game and unlike many games that weve tried and she gets frustrated with or is just not interested in, she likes this one.

5 Stars Fun Dog Game
This game is fun for kids and adults 4 and up. It is easy and fun to play. On singleplayer you get to adopt a dog(s) and pet him, teach him tricks, enter an agility course and win awards, dress him, play jumprope (which comes locked at first), and play catch (which also comes locked). My dad adopted a husky, my little brother adopted a German sheperd, and I adopted a pug. On multiplayer up to 3 friends can join your dog in an ajilitity course, but awards are not saved.

5 Stars Petz Sports Fun!
I got this for my 9 year old daughter who loves dogs but is a load of fun for the whole family. Great game!
