WII THE LEGEND OF ZELDA COLLECTIBLE TIN STARTER KIT

INCLUDES: THE LEGEND OF ZELDA COLLECTIBLE TIN, GAME WALLET, 2 REMOTE GLOVES, & 2 NUNCHUK GLOVES. WII REMOTE & NUNCHUK NOT INCLUDED.

5 Stars Fantastic Kit
I got this when I first purchased my Wii and I’m glad I did. The covers for the wiimote are the old-fashioned ones that aren’t as huge and gummy like the ones that come in the box making it hurt a bit more when you’re too close to player 2… the game case is sort of squishy, but still functions so you don’t have to carry bulky boxes and the tin is normal lunch-box quality. Great item, great price, you should get it!

5 Stars Cute idea
This came with Wii parts in a lunch box type holder. We used the Wii parts and now my daughter has a serviceable and unique lunch box for school.

3 Stars sonic for wii
This game has some very good graphics, but the game play isn’t great. All that you really do is move side to side, and jump. There are even some level that you don’t even have to move the wiimote or touch a button and the camera does all the work.

1 Star I paid $[...] for this game! $[...]!!!
I’ve been playing sonic since the day he was first introduced to us Sega fans. He came with my first genisis and I’ve loved playing him ever since. Sonic and the secret rings was maybe the second game I had for my Wii. The system was new and had few games for it (funny it still is in the same boat). I picked up sonic because it’s Sonic! this has to be atleast ok good right? I couldn’t have been more wrong. I played this game for about an hour hating absolutely everything about it. This is not the Sonic of past, nor like the Sonic of newer games. This game has no real free play. You can’t explore anything. All you do in this game is flip your wii remote aroud and Sonic moves forward. I mean this game reminded me of those God awful Sega CD games. Matter of fact it plays exactly like them almost. Games like this shouldn’t even be allowed to be produced in this day in age. Pretty much that’s it, all you do is go forward with very little say so in how the game is played. Almost reminds me of Sewer Shark for Sega CD. I was so furious after I purchased this game. After spending $50 dollars I hated it within the first hour. Eventually I sold it for maybe 30% of that. Probably the only game I’ve sold after I brought it. I mean you really have to wonder why they bothered to make this awful game. It’s simple, way to easy, and doesn’t offer any satisfiable game play. This is just an example of Sega cashing in on the Wii hype back than.

5 Stars this game is incredible!!!!
i just got done reading some of the one star reviews of this game because i wanted to know how anyone could be such an idiot – and after reading a few of them [Christ what losers] it’s way obvious – each one of them is exactly the same, “oh, i’m a big wuss and i couldn’t figure the controls so i played it a few hours and returned it to blockbuster, the next day.” well guess what you jackasses i’ve played this game not just for a few days but every level and every mission, i’ve unlocked skills, special attacks and destroyed all kinds of wicked cool bosses and cut the life out of the evil jeanie of the lamp to beat the game, you dumba$$e$ have no idea how mind blowing these levels are, absolutley incredible in every way, a MUST BUY – top 10 – 5 star and A+ game that should be in every gamers wii colection – Sonic and the Secret Rings

5 Stars My nephew loved this
I purchased this for my 7 year old nephew. He was very excited to get this game and has had a wonderful time playing it. There are times when he gets frustrated but, once he gets through the section he off again. Very age appropriate! It’s nice to have a game that challenges him without the graphics that he shouldn’t be seeing.

5 Stars hack link
I recommend reading C. Alfaro “Teo” ’s review for an in depth review of the game.

5 Stars Amazing
Many people say Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda ever, but I disagree. Twilight Princess is not only a great game, but it’s the greatest Zelda game ever. Yes, Ocarina of Time was more fresh when it first came out as it was the first 3D Zelda, and it was indeed a great game. Although, today, I’d have to say that I’d play Twilight Princess over Ocarina. Twilight Princess has the fun Wii controls, better graphics, more variety, and the wolf gameplay is real fun too. Ocarina was more innovative, but Twilight is, hands down the better game.

4 Stars LOVE the game, HATE the ending.
Absolutely loved this game!! I don’t know why people complain about the wiimote and nunchuck, because I think they are quite compatible as controllers. The graffics are terrific as is the storyline, and if you’re not using cheats, the game is just difficult enough to keep you interested, but not so difficult that it drives you nuts and you give up, and chuck the wiimote at your poor HDTV. I really love the little villages; they are so quaint and charming (you’ve guessed it; I’m a chick)! The only thing that I disliked about the game was the end: You can’t go back and free-play after the grand finale. (I was hoping to return to the cute little villages and make Link & Zelda “create” little sword-and-shield-yielding babies! ;) Ha!) Unfortunately, this kind of ending is typical of Zelda games. Why oh WHY???

4 Stars It is good and fun.
I was looking forward to getting this game because I was a fan since I played this game with superfamicom long time ago…This game is upgraded a lot. Just one thing I don’t like very much is 3-D vision sometimes make me confused. It might be bad for some people.

3 Stars Who Did This???
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has a lot going for it, and lives up to many of the expectations. BUT…too many downright crummy elements get in the way.

Positives: Stunning graphics, clean and natural control, a great variety of locals and setting-styles, several very cool weapons and tools, and some of the biggest bosses in any Legend of Zelda title(size matters). You can slash while you run. You can slash while you RIDE EPONA. The Twilight world is cool, unique from the Dark World in Link to the Past. The new Link gives himself a new character, setting this game on its own feet, independent of previous ones. Unfortunately…

Negatives: . . . the old Link had better games to play. The Control lacks the sensitivity and accuracy of previous titles. The new tools are incorporated poorly, generally just useful in the dungeon where they’re found. Wolf-Link has NO COOL ABILITIES OR ITEMS. He’s not fun at all. Bosses only LOOK tough, and enemies are often annoyingly hard to kill.

Most especially, this game lacks the bulls-eye brevity of so many previous titles. The world is big, empty and lonely. Characters are weak and uninteresting, generally without any semblance of personality. The story is told amazingly poorly, cheapening Midna’s interesting character, and the main bad guys never feel really bad at all. The cinematics, though nice, aren’t worth the bloated loading time. There are about 2 minigames(not enough, plus being the worst minigames in the series).

This game is well-worth its 3 stars, but it really feels like folks at Nintendo just got sloppy after putting in some great ideas. This game is one of the weakest titles in the series, and for that alone it loses a star. Under any other title, it would have merited four/five. Not under the Zelda mantle, though.

Overall: It’s worth buying and playing, and you’ll probably like it enough to play it twice. There are a few truly Zelda-worthy moments and concepts. It’s just that the rest of the game bangs off in a new – bad – direction.

4 Stars A surprisingly fun, but misclassified, game
This game is listed as a role-playing game, but it really doesn’t have the characteristics of a role-playing game. I would classify it as an action/adventure instead; most sites that discuss this game agree with this classification. There is no character development, aside from being able to collect “heart containers” to raise your maximum health. Defeating enemies does not yield experience or otherwise improve your character, other than receiving heart containers from boss battles. You don’t get to choose from a wide selection of weapons, armor, etc. either. You occasionally receive a weapon upgrade, but this is entirely dictated by the game. Nonetheless, you do get a variety of utility items you can use to help you along. Money does not play a huge part, and you are limited in the amount you can hold at a time; however, you will rarely find yourself unable to buy what you want.

All this is not to say that the game is not enjoyable. I found it very much so. However, if you are used to Final Fantasy or other such “traditional” RPGs and that is all you are interested in, you may be disappointed. While combat is an important part of the game, it is far from being a straightforward hack-and-slash game. You are required to alternately assume the form of human and wolf, with each form having its own abilities and limitations. Unfortunately, the gameplay during wolf form is quite limited and repetitive. You are tasked with finding “tears” to fill a vessel, which must be liberated by fighting bug-like creatures. Every foray into wolf form involves this same puzzle, with the locations of the tears being marked on the map for you. It would have been nice if there had been some variety to the wolf play, although the wolf form’s inability for the most part to use items limits what could have been done. The puzzles encountered in human form involve more in-depth challenges to overcome, requiring manipulating objects, pressing switches, and finding hidden objects and areas. And, oh yes, there are boss battles; while they generally require a certain amount of quick reflexes, mostly they are about discovering the combination of items/maneuvers needed to win. For this reason, I strongly recommend playing through the first time without resorting to walkthroughs, at least not for the boss battles, because once you know the tactics you need, most battles are not terribly difficult.

The control scheme can be a tad complex, if you want to use the full range of moves and special attacks. The game makes great use of the Wii system to make the controls easy to master. I can’t imagine being able to do it so easily with a traditional controller, so kudos to Nintendo for giving game developers something with so much potential to build on. They don’t go quite all the way with this; for example you aren’t rewarded for the strength of your swing in combat, but I think it is a matter of personal taste whether that would make the game better or not, and they have simply chosen not to go that route. The buttons within menus can be rather confusing; part of the time the A button selects and the B button “backs up” or exits, and part of the time it is the other way around, depending on what you are doing. It usually won’t cause a big problem but occasionally I found it somewhat irritating.

The game starts out being very linear without a lot of side quests, although there is always fishing if you want a diversion. I thought for awhile I was going to be done within 20 hours. At a certain point, however, the game broadens out greatly and you encounter many secrets and side quests you can investigate. I played around for over 100 hours before finally completing the game (you can complete it much faster if you wish, but I was trying to find as many secrets as possible). One very nice point of this game: If you are a fan of Final Fantasy and read the FAQs for one of those games, you will usually find one dedicated to “missable items” (items where if you don’t get them by a certain point in the game, they are gone forever). This game has no such items. You can always complete a quest or find an item (once it becomes available) before the end of the game.

I think that the game does too much “hand-holding” at times instead of having you discover things for yourself. For some quests, the game marks locations on your map that you must visit (such as the wolf form’s teardrop collecting quest), when the designers could have made the game last even longer by only offering subtle hints and making finding the locations part of your quest. I suppose that this reduces the chance of frustration by being stuck not knowing what to do next. Some players might see this as a positive rather than a negative, and it does reduce the chance of having to resort to a walkthrough, which is admittedly disappointing to have to do.

In the end, I was kind of saddened to see the game be over. It was a great experience, and I would recommend it to other action-adventure fans out there. The characters you meet are likable, although only Midna, your twilight companion for most of the game, is fleshed out in any great detail. It can appeal to gamers of a variety of ages and experience levels. I would certainly be interested in playing more in the series as they are released.

Emergency Mayhem

Emergency Mayhem mixes fast and frantic driving action with hilarious arcade mini games. Take charge of the three Emergency Services, you’ll have to battle the traffic and shoot down shortcuts as you race from crazy catastrophe to daft disaster. At each incident, you’ll use the Wii Remote in wacky ways to solve unique crises, from disarming bombs to herding escaped penguins. Then it’s on to the next emergency.

1 Star Warning: Game May Cause Severe Frustration
I was really excited to see this game being made. I thought it would be Crazy Taxi meets Wario Smooth Moves. Two of my favorite games. I rented the game, and I was very disappointed. The idea of the game is to choose to be a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic, find emergencies in town, which are mini games, and reduce them. Great concept, but the game play wasn’t good.

The controls were VERY difficult, in both how you control the vehicles and in game play. There are arrows guiding the direction to go, but I found those to be difficult as well. Many times I ended up driving in circles, going to the same “Emergency”, or hitting dead ends. Many times I couldn’t hit the target. I would end up going past it. When you try and back up, it would go too far. Controls were very sensitive. The few mini games I actually got to were either too easy or difficult to understand what to actually do. The entire time, an annoying dispatcher is blathering about how terrible you are doing. Very frustrating and overall boring.

2 Stars Difficult to control, not fun at all
This game uses nunchuck for controlling the vehicle’s direction and A / B for backward / forward. There is no options to customize the game control.

Although I enjoyed “Wild World: African Safari” which uses similar controls. I found it very difficult to direct the vehicles in this game. I don’t how software designer came up such an awkward idea as the game will be much easier to play if only the wiimote is used (e.g. either like the control in Need for Speed, or Super Paper Mario).

Wii Classic Controller

The Wii Classic Controller recreates the classic Nintendo format you’ve been using for years now. For gamers who don’t feel comfortable with the new Nunchaku or Wiimote controls, this is a familiar and comfortable alternative. Features include:

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Wii classic controller
Excellent to play all the past console games… feels like supernintendo once again… IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO PLAY MORTAL KOMBAT OR KILLER INSTINCT?????

4 Stars good for most vc games but not n64 games
its great for vc games not that good for the n64 its good for a couple of wii games

5 Stars wii classic controller
controller needed for old games available for download through the wii shop channel. it is required to play some of the games. just like using the old systems. plugs into a wii remote, so it does waste batteries.

4 Stars Good accessory for Virtual Console and new games
First of all, if you buy this product and plan on spending an appreciable amount of time playing on it, get one of these for each Classic Controller: Wii Classic Controller Grip. It fixes the ergonomic issues. With those attached, I have played 3-4 hours at a time with no discomfort. That said:

When my wife and I got our Wii, we got two Classic Controllers (CCs) so we could more easily play Virtual Console (VC) games. That was almost a year ago, and we just got our first VC game. That might make it seem like a waste, but one thing made it worth it: Mario Kart Wii. I played hours and hours and hours of Mario Kart 64, and the CC is far and above my favorite way to play Mario Kart Wii. You will give up tricks during jumps and wheelies, but I don’t really use those anyway.

We finally did get our first VC game (Super Mario Brothers), and the CCs work great. I can’t comment on GameCube games since I’ve never owned one and haven’t gotten a VC GameCube game, but the joystick and overall feel of the CC is a lot better than the one on any N64 gamepad I used (better material on top, better resistance, don’t have to tilt left wrist to use trigger button, etc.).

To those complaining that this isn’t truly “wireless” since you have to connect it to a WiiMote: because it is that way, you also don’t have to worry about extra batteries for this controller and unless you’re standing up and whipping the thing everywhere, I don’t see how that negatively impacts the experience: when I use the CC, the Wiimote sits next to me on the couch or end table and I forget it’s even there.

I don’t think everyone appreciates the challenge inherent in this product: the design team was tasked with building something that would play everything from NES up to the Wii. This wasn’t meant to be an N64 controller, an NES controller, or a GameCube controller (hear that, rest of reviewers?). It’s something that tries to be an acceptable replacement for all of those original controllers. Everyone forgets that Nintendo very well could have released new versions of all of those controllers and charged $25 apiece for them. I would rather have something that works well for all those consoles than rebuy several controllers to make use of all the kinds of VC games.

The only major complaint I have is the anemic support for the CC in new, first-party Nintendo titles. We got ours with the assumption that things would be like Mario Kart Wii: you can use the CCs, but you’ll give up some niceties. Instead, most titles won’t support it even though it seems the control scheme could translate to a CC. Super Mario Galaxy is a perfect example: you would give up the ability to grab star bits from far away, but you could adapt the core game movements to the CC. We were disappointed to find this is not supported.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase: if nothing else, we have the intended controller for VC games and I found a fantastic control scheme for Mario Kart Wii that I much prefer to all others I’ve tried. It’s not every expensive, either. Is is my favorite controller ever? No, but it does its job well.

Pros:

- Good control scheme for most Virtual Console games

- Build quality is good and analog stick tops have nice anti-slip material

- When a new Wii game supports it, makes for a nice alternative

- No need for extra batteries since it plugs into a WiiMote

Cons

- Apparently not for GameCube games

- Need a third-party attachment for good ergonomics

- Because it’s not made for a specific console, some games’ control schemes might not translate well

- Wish more new first-party Nintendo titles would make use of it

Neutral

- Not truly wireless, but the cord is long enough to keep WiiMote from interfering in normal play

5 Stars Pretty cool guy
The Wii classic controller is a pretty cool guy. He lets you play Virtual Console games and doesn’t afraid of anything.

Also, I have this and I also have a Gamecube controller. Honestly, if you have a choice and don’t mind the wire (or can get a hold of a wireless one) a Gamecube controller actually is a bit better than the classic controller (and works on the same things the classic controller does), but this is pretty good nonetheless. It’s shaped a bit like like an oversized SNES controller with analog sticks. I mean, that’s pretty much what it is, right?

1 Star not worth it
obviously since this is so cheap I didn’t have much expectations for it, but it’s not even worth the few cents it costs, very cheap and very thin

1 Star DO NOT BUY!!!
I bought 3 different colors of these so my kids could easily identify their Wii remotes. 2 of them ripped while putting them on the remotes for the first time. They do not inhibit playing at all; however, you must remove half of the cover to put the remote in the charger. Not worth the money at all!!!

5 Stars Wonderful
This cover is great it gives everyones own persanlity to there Wii remote. It fits great you can use the all the buttons whith no interference from the cover and it helps with grip as well. I will be buying one for all 4 of my Wii remotes.

5 Stars Love it!

4 Stars Wii Control Protector
The product is fine, help to protect my will control. Some time it dificult to push some bottons, specially the small ones.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star DONT BUY!
This is the worst game ever. Near impossible to steer and the car gets jamed into rocks and will not move. Waste of money and time. Big disapointmnet! One star is still too high a score.

1 Star NOT MADE FOR WII !!
I don’t think anyone who programed this game actually played it!! if they did they would realize that the controllers don’t respond properly to the game..if you turn an inch you go into the wall, off a cliff, or into everything else!!I have other games on the wii that use a sterring wheel and they work great(MonsterTruck4×4) for example, but this game is UNPLAYABLE…I even thought that after a awhile I would get better at it, but it is’nt the players…It’s the game…Please don’t waste you’r money!!..pass on this one and buy one that you can have fun with..you know,I mean one that works…

3 Stars Game okay, difficult to control.
The game is fairly fun and the graphics pretty decent. However, it’s very difficult to control with the WiiMote. There seems to be some lag between turning the WiiMote to steer and it translating to the car on the screen. The delay tends to cause oversteering and takes a lot of the fun out of the game. There are lots of tight turns on cliff ledges and such and you either wind up going very slow (and losing the race) or speeding up and falling off.
